Job Description Summary: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Systems Engineer to join our company. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing expertise in the areas of infrastructure/technical planning, implementation, and support activities for information systems as part of the Systems Engineering Team for the company. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert across various infrastructure technologies including cloud, storage systems, server virtualization, compute, and disaster recovery operations. Critical Job Functions: Provide technical expertise and support within the Systems Engineering Team Provide input and develop best practices and strategies regarding system deployment and infrastructure maintenance. Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements. Ensure system performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of thoughtful design. Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address and resolve technical escalations. Collaborate with Infrastructure Teams to design and build secure technologies. Recommend, design, build, and deploy new tools and platforms that help automate, streamline, and scale systems operations efforts. Provide continuous monitoring, maintenance, and support of all cloud and on-premise infrastructure. Act as a Tier III escalation point for infrastructure requests and incidents. Stay informed on recent industry trends and developments to be proactive in actions whenever possible. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field 3 years of experience in a systems engineering role. Scripting and automation experience working with REST APIs Expert level knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems Strong knowledge of Office 365 Strong knowledge of Windows RDS and VDI solutions Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Strong knowledge of PowerShell Strong knowledge of Storage platforms Experience with VMware Possess a positive and proactive attitude towards customer support and a desire to help people. Ability to effectively multitask and work on multiple projects and various other tasks in tandem. Highly disciplined and able to work independently and without direct supervision. Exceptional written and oral communication skills Excellent time management and organizational skills 7 years of IT Experience preferred. 5 years of experience in a security operation and/or engineering role preferred. Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP, Azure fundamentals preferred.
