Job Description

Performs visual inspection of printed materials for defects.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform "samples" selection and package for shipment.
  • Perform visual inspection of random samples of product selected during a production run, or post production, looking for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, and any other visual defect that is out of specification.
  • Follows inspection checklist and records any identified defects.
  • Follow established quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure product meets quality conformance specified by the customer.
  • Provides notification to manufacturing management of known or found defects.
  • May assist with disposition of defective or non-conforming product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in a quality control/assurance function, especially in printing environment preferred
  • Requires knowledge of general administrative and manufacturing operations procedures and knowledge of job specific processes key to successfully execute and complete the duties of the job.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic organizational skills sufficient to accomplish work by established deadlines.
Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $15.00 to $18.50 / hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance, maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
