Under the general direction of the City Manager, performs a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative and technical accounting and finance activities in maintaining the fiscal records and systems of the City. Oversees and directs all staff engaged in finance, and other departments such as treasury and assessing and plays a key role in annual budget development. In addition, the Finance Director serves as an ex-officio member of the Retirement System Board of Trustees and the Retiree Health Care Investment Board. The Finance Director serves as the chief financial advisor to the City Manager and performs work in accordance with statutory procedures and broad policies prescribed by the City Manager’s office.
