We know how to identify and implement innovative solutions for our client's toughest challenges.Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Area Manager to perform and oversee highway maintenance operations in the Nashville, TN area. The project is a multi-year, performance-based, transportation asset management contract with Tennessee's Department of Transportation. This position requires incident management coordination as well as supervision of in-house maintenance crews which includes a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including but not limited to, pothole patching, drain cleaning, vegetation management, sweeping, ground signs, road patrol, incident response, and more. Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen company policies and procedures.
Schedule:
Full-time; Must be flexible, able to travel, and work varying schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise field operations, assist with staffing and conflict resolution
- Optimize work scheduling for efficiency and meeting deadlines; work with project management to track project productivity
- Ensure timely, high-quality completion of work, maximize workday efficiency
- Verify accurate completion of scheduled work, maintain communication with crews
- Provide on-the-job training, ensure adherence to standards and safety protocols
- Minimum of 3-5 years of construction-related experience
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Earth
- Strong, leadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing, directing and leading construction crews.
- Maintenance of Traffic Certifications
- Knowledge in Herbicide application/licensing in Right of way and aquatic pest Planning, scheduling, and estimating
- General knowledge with regards to Highway lighting
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Operating and maintaining company vehicles and equipment
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
Company will conduct Background check, MVR and Controlled Substance testing prior to hire.
