POSITION SUMMARY

ROWE is currently looking for a Traffic Project Engineer to join our team. Project Engineers work on teams with Project Managers, working in a group environment on a diverse range of projects, providing creative leadership to a wide range of staff with varied experience. This position will play a big role in growing our Design Services Division team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement marking plans for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and local clients.
• Traffic impact studies, crash analysis, safety studies, signal optimization, and traffic forecasting for public and private clients.
• Intersection and corridor traffic modeling, including modeling roundabouts.
• Traffic signal warrant analysis, design and operations analysis.
• Report writing.
• Assist Project Managers present at public and client meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking forward-thinking, safety-conscious, and energetic individuals who are excited to work on both small-scale and large-scale projects. Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of related traffic engineering experience preferred.
• Michigan Professional Engineer License.
• PTOE license a plus.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering fundamentals and industry trends.
• Traffic signal design experience.
• Experience with SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, PTV VISUM, PTV VISTRO, and Rodel preferred.
• Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies.
• Knowledge of MDOT traffic standards and guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical/judgement capabilities, and ability to work independently or on a team.
• Ability to work remote and in person effectively.
