Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the grocery department, including inventory management, stocking, and customer service
- Lead and motivate a team of grocery associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and performance evaluations for department staff
- Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for new team members
- Implement retail management strategies to optimize department performance
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, negotiate with suppliers, and make purchasing decisions
- Develop and execute sales management plans to drive revenue growth
- Ensure organizational standards are met in terms of cleanliness, organization, and safety
Requirements:
- Proven experience in grocery management or a related retail field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team
- Proficiency in payroll management and scheduling
- Ability to effectively sell products and services to customers
- Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Knowledge of stock control procedures and inventory management
- Excellent negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers and vendors
- Ability to make informed buying decisions based on market trends and customer demand
- Prior experience in sales management is preferred
- Strong organizational skills to maintain department efficiency and compliance
