District School Dean of Students

This position requires Arizona School Certification. 

Purpose

We are looking for a professional School Dean of Students to help students prepare for academic achievement, ensure career readiness and develop personal or social competencies through a comprehensive, preventive and developmental counseling program. The goal is to ensure that students will become productive and well-adjusted adults. The job includes working with all three schools in the school district to accomplish this goal.

• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student pool
• Working knowledge of various counseling models, practices and resources
• Ability to collect and analyze data
• MA degree in School Counseling

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish a school wide tiered model to prevent and address behavior problems
• Coordinate with and support regular education program teachers about behavior and how to help individual students find academic success
• Coordinate and integrate Federal, State, and local services and programs such as violence prevention programs, nutrition programs, etc.
• Provide opportunities for services for students’ mental and physical health
• Provide courses that allow students to become well-adjusted adults
• Coordinate with administrators to establish plans for improvement
• Conduct group or individual counseling sessions to assist student with problems or concerns
• Evaluate the progress of students and reinforce the sense of accomplishment
• Complete assessments and tests, analyze results and provide feedback
• Provide training for teachers and staff on mental health
• Work with individual students and teachers on a one on one basis

Salary will be based upon Certifications/Experience in accordance with district salary scale.
