Roswell Marine is Hiring a Drafter Near Rockledge, FL
Roswell Marine is looking for a talented, driven individual with a passion for drafting in the marine industry. This position is in a dynamic team of designers and engineers with a comfortable working environment in Rockledge, Florida. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of products from audio components to complete wakeboard towers. The Drafter 1 will utilize Solidworks to create drawings and BOM’s that meet company and industry standards. Other tools include the Google suite of software.
Essential Job Functions and Duties
- Prepare mechanical 2D engineering drawings consisting of complex arrangements, layouts,
- assemblies, isometrics, etc., from 3D CAD models according to established drawing
- standards and procedures.
- Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards, codes, and company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated system designs.
- Develop and design layouts of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with required safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
- Review supplier data, read and understand 2D and / or 3D designs.
- Review existing engineering designs/drawings for accuracy and modify as required.
- Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
- Interact with vendors and manufacturing facilities to address manufacturability questions, issues, and potential drawing optimization.
- Support with building prototypes, mockups and other R&D related tasks.

- Language Skills Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions in English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
- Technical degree or certificate of completion for an accredited designer/drafting course (or equivalent), designing components and assemblies.
- Post Offer Background check and drug screening may be required
- Normal office hours are Monday - Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM
- Overtime required depending on project needs
- Office Environment - ability to use computers and office equipment, light lifting and other physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas.
- Safety shoes must be worn at all times when in the production and PD&E areas.
