Job Summary / Objective

Basic operational proficiency with multiple CNC machines

Essential Job Functions and Duties

  • Mazak knowledge & experience
  • 3 & 4 & 5 axis mill setup experience
  • Produce large cast and billet parts using Mazak CNC vertical & horizontal mills. CNC lathe with live tooling and a Mazak Palletech high rise system.
  • Performs complex set-ups for self and/or others
  • Operates and adjusts CNC machines such as, but not limited to mills, lathes, etc. in production of complex parts, assemblies, tooling and fixtures.
  • Uses and interprets appropriate statistical quality data and is able to identify quality problems through use of said dataKnowledge of tooling speeds and feeds, offsets, and minor program changes
  • Basic operational proficiency with multiple CNC machines
  • Experience with working in a prototype and first piece rapid machining environment
  • Must be able to use and interpret precision measuring equipment
  • Willing to take on challenges with a "can-do" attitude
  • High level of initiative, strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through
  • Desire to work collaboratively as a team player as needed to complete projects.
  • Ability to competently perform all essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, demonstrate a commitment to effectively deliver product, and the ability to work productively as a member of a team with a good and positive attitude.
  • Uses appropriate shop math and trig to develop proper methods, and through experience and training; is able to select appropriate feeds, speeds and tools
  • Works from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions to produce work to close tolerances
  • Use various hand tools, such as but not limited to electric drills, drill press, grinders, files, Calipers, Micrometers and other measuring instruments
  • Maintains and performs preventive maintenance on machines and related systems
  • Set up and Operate multiple, multi-axis machines simultaneously
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe workspace
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School education or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a machine shop working with CNC lathes and/or mills

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Post offer background check and drug screening may be required

  • Overtime may be required at times depending on manufacturing needs

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Safety Glasses must be worn in certain departments
  • Enclosed shoes must be worn in the manufacturing area
