Job Title: Layout Technician

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Purpose: Responsible for in-depth analysis of molded, finished and assembled parts per in house and customer specifications for tool and process approval.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform all duties of Quality Inspector.
• Conduct inspection and dimensional analysis on purchased, in process and finished products
• Perform dimensional analysis using precise measuring instruments, devices and gages
• Record all data accurately and complete appropriate documents for further analysis
• Data Entry
• Use of PPAP, CpK and other capability processes where required
• Familiar with FMEA
• Compare results to blueprints, drawings, files and specifications
• Act as liaison with Quality and Engineering Departments
• Perform other duties as required.
• Knowledge of GD&T

Training Requirements (OJT 90 Days or less): Ongoing, informal, evaluation by Management for additional training needs.

Work Experience:

• Prefer 2-5 years related experience in a field with math emphasis including trigonometry and geometry. Require working knowledge of standard inspection fixtures, inspection equipment, statistical process control techniques and the coordinate measurement machine (CMM). Experience with ERP systems desirable.

Skills Required:

• Working knowledge of PC-DMIS or similar Software (CMM)
• Working knowledge of InSpec Metrology Software (MicroVu)
• Basic Skills consisting of reading, writing, mathematics, speaking and listening.

Educational Requirements:

• Prefer High School Graduate with emphasis in mathematics. Technical Degree desirable.
