General Description:
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the principal.
Qualifications:
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate individual student progress on a regular basis and keeps records in accordance with district policy.
Provide positive reinforcement for individual effort.
Maintains a plan book of daily and unit instruction based on district curriculum guides and emergency plans in the event of illness.
Establish and communicate to students well-defined objectives for each unit of work, including related projects and activities.
Provide an orderly, attractive, stimulating environment which promotes learning.
Attend staff meetings and district in-service training programs. Participate in grade level/departmental and teacher/principal conferences as scheduled.
Is responsible for discharging school-related duties during school hours.
Maintains a safe classroom environment conducive to student learning. Reports disciplinary issues in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct to Administration
Take all reasonable measures to assure student health and safety, being alert to unusual mental or physical condition of students and refers these to the appropriate personnel (principal, counselor, or nurse.)
Adheres to/Implements modifications to instruction and assessments as indicated for students with 504, IEP, and WEPs, with support from Special Education Specialists.
Participates in writing 504s, IEPs, and WEPs for students on their caseload with support from Special Education Specialists
Conducts conferences with individual students and/or parents when deemed necessary or upon request.
Shares the responsibility of interpreting the educational program to the community in a professional manner.
Perform related work as required or as directed by the principal.
