Position Description and Purpose:
To maintain equipment and building with focus on food safety, quality, and productivity in assigned facility/department. With main focus on Ammonia Refrigeration System
The Maintenance Ammonia Tech must have a strong working relationship with all departments and communicate, in a clear and professional manner, any issues that may occur throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal and co-worker safety as it pertains to Ammonia Refrigeration.
Food Safety
Enforce that all elements of food safety within the plant are being met
Ensure that all tools and equipment used is accounted for when completing a task.
Ensure that clothing worn does not become contaminated causing possible carrying of ingredients, especially allergens, to other areas.
Ensure the cleaning and sanitizing of tools and equipment when tasks are completed.
If any food safety issues are found, notify supervisor immediately.
Responsibilities
Knowledgeable of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Procedures) and other legal requirements for the Ammonia Refrigeration Industry.
Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs on your line to ensure your equipment is in proper working order.
Assist production and sanitation with customer complaint issues.
Assist parts room personal to maintaining key equipment spare parts inventory.
Must have a strong working relationship with production and sanitation.
Knowledgeable of OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Association) standards. PSM / RMP.
Ensure that a facility is ready for 3rd party or customer inspections.
Other duties as identified or assigned Maintenance Ammonia Supervisor
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Required:
Basic knowledge of equipment and repair practices
Desire/willingness to learn and advance skills in the field of ammonia
Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Basic Operator training Level 1.
Working knowledge of PSM / RMP procedures and program.
Preferred:
Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Basic Operator training Level 2.
