Location: Anpétu Téca Education Center Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Teacher on Special Assignment in The Office of Educational Equity. This position is a 1.0 FTE Elementary (E-6) Equity Advancement TOSA with districtwide responsibilities primarily focused on elementary curricular support, professional development, and equity coaching. Job Summary: The Elementary Equity Advancement TOSA will collaboratively lead professional development planning, communication, and the creation of the professional development calendar. This position will also lead various curriculum review teams, coordinate Elementary Report Cards, and work with Elementary Specialists on the completion of their TDE goals. This position must have a strong vision and understanding of equity work. Candidates should also have a high level of knowledge regarding equity policy and professional development. A valid MN Teaching license
Commitment to equitable practices and an equitable experience for all.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence
Strong racial equity focus and culturally responsive equity mindset
Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate groups
At least 3 years of teaching experience
Preferred Qualification:
Background in curriculum development E-6
Strong Professional Development Skills
Experience in project management
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Professional Development:
Understands and effectively supports the educational curriculum and instruction compass areas including equity pedagogy, culturally relevant content, collective knowledge creation, and social justice orientation
Provides professional development, training, support, and collaboration in assigned areas for principals, teachers and other staff as needed
Coordinates E-6 professional development activities districtwide to include: maintaining the professional development calendar, communicating the professional development plans, and evaluating the professional development program
Provides professional development and training opportunities for staff to assist them with implementation of curricular areas and district professional development focus areas Professional Learning Communities:
Provides vision and leadership for professional learning communities districtwide that lead to the elimination of racial disparities through the use of a race-based data protocol and culturally responsive teaching
Designs and leads professional development to move forward the PLC Vision, Tight/Loose expectations and Innovation Configurations Maps. General Responsibilities:
Understands and establishes systems of assessment that provide data for program evaluation, student progress monitoring, and use in planning
Supports the community engagement of underrepresented communities
Amplifies student voice
Knowledgeable of the developmental and diverse needs of elementary scholars
Collaborates and effectively teams with Office of Educational Equity staff members
Models and demonstrates knowledge of current teaching and learning best practices, and current trends in early education
Facilitates data driven decision making to determine classroom instructional needs
Performs other responsibilities as apparent or assigned Program Review:
Coordinates and leads assigned district curricular areas with a focus on absent and counter narratives
Leads others in data informed decision making to create an equitable curricular program to increase student engagement and eliminate racial disparities in achievement, participation, and relationships
Provides leadership and equitable vision for curriculum teams in the Curriculum and Program Review System
Knowledgeable of current trends in curriculum development, backwards design, MN state standards, Professional Learning Communities, and creating inclusive curriculum
Communicates curricular area progress to administration, District Curriculum Advisory Committee, and School Board
Supports management of assigned curricular area budgets
Compensation: Starting salary based on experience and education following teachers’ compensation matrix plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance.
