POSITION SUMMARY

The Painter will apply the base and clear coats to the apparatus. They will sand out imperfections before paint application. The Painter will tape, mask, and apply plastic cover to body and cab openings before coating. Also, they will prepare the truck for buffing station to streamline the process and maintain efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Applies the base and clear coats to the apparatus.
2. Sands out imperfections before paint application.
3. Tapes, masks, and applies plastic cover to body and cab openings before coating.
4. Prepares the truck for buffing station to streamline the process and maintain efficiency.
5. Utilizes pressure pot, sander, and sprayer efficiently to complete tasks.
6. Maintenance on paint equipment and oversee bake booth.
7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 2 years in autobody/industrial work force required.
• 4 years in autobody/industrial work force preferred.

Skills:

Language:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities:

• Locate work orders and process them within the time allotment according to the work order, production schedule, and department objectives.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely.
• Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within one’s production process and make the needed adjustments.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions and do so with a positive attitude.
• You recognize the importance and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
• Understand the need to support the organization to work effectively by adhering to the attendance and punctuality standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and unplanned absences and lateness.
• Communicate progress of project to the appropriate Supervisor or Shift Lead.
• Basic knowledge of air assisted tools.
• Able to pass the paint respirator test.

Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally
