ROPER PUMP COMPANY is Hiring a Planner 1 Near Commerce, GA

Essential Functions

  • Create shop orders and build orders based on item attributes and demand, and release shop orders to Production based on priority and material availability.
  • Review shop orders for routing accuracy. Collaborate with Engineering team to manage updates as needed.
  • Create or assist in creating production schedules based on priority and material availability.
  • Create or assist in creating assembly schedules for each product line based on sales order priority and component availability.
  • Collaborate with production leadership regarding work orders status.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to identify and expedite part shortages and provide updates to management and/or Customer Service.
  • Working with multiple functional areas, recommend or initiate production rescheduling based on material availability, capacity, and customer requests to mitigate late shipments.
  • Support Sales/Customer Service with satisfying customer requests and provide an accurate recovery schedule for missed shipments.
  • Support Sales/Customer Service by providing accurate lead times for customer requests and collaborate with Supply Chain to address any concerns.
  • Using the ERP system, map and track critical customer orders from production to shipping and provide Sales/Customer Service with accurate updates.
  • Suggests and implements improvements in work flow, and other aspects of production control to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Engineering team in communicating engineering change requests and updating existing shop orders as required.
  • Analyze and monitor machine capacity and bottlenecks and collaborate with manufacturing to make appropriate adjustments.
  • Monitor production adherence to the manufacturing schedule and collaborate with manufacturing to make appropriate adjustments.
  • Audit shop orders as needed to verify shop floor clocking discipline and correct location of work in progress in shop. Collaborate with Manufacturing to address concerns.
  • Provide reports to manufacturing and the business as needed. Must have the ability to develop spreadsheets, databases, and work with MRP / ERP systems.
  • Participate in inventory optimization and control efforts. Assist in implementing new methods for automating and improving inventory control.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure raw materials are available in sufficient quantities to meet customer requirements. Obtain forecasts from sales for future planning.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time on-site position . Days of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or (GED) and one year related experience and training. Must have general knowledge of Microsoft Office.
