Position: pharmacy Technician

Location: York ME

Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Pay: $35/hr

We are looking for 1 - 2 year minimum and must hold an Active Pharmacy Tech license in the State of Maine.

The Pharmacy Technician assists the registered pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile medications, including IV solutions, in conjunction with state and federal laws. You maintain records and inventory and follows procedural work routines to ensure medications are ready and available for patient administration. The Pharmacy Technician must have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to adapt to different work environments and patient populations. Must hold a technician license in the state of Maine or make application to the state for immediate licensure.

Requirements:

• Has prepared IV infusions in both hazardous and non-hazardous environments.
• Has utilized closed system transfer devices (CSTD’s) during all hazardous medication preparation or is willing to learn.
• Properly disposes of all hazardous waste generated during the compounding process.
• Assists in cleaning all controlled environments within the pharmacy area per daily, weekly, and monthly requirements.
• Appropriately utilizes personal protective equipment.
• Performs independently with respect to all essential technician duties and responsibilities.
• Maintains focus on medication safety, documents medication errors.
• Maintains the quality control standards of the clean room(s) in accordance with USP regulations.
• Assists with the restocking of pharmaceutical products in all areas of the hospital including the automated dispensing machines.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
• Weekends only

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Pharmacy technician: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Certified Pharmacist (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• York, ME 03909: Relocate before starting work (Required)
