Roots Wellness Center is Hiring a Metro Transit Outreach Coordinator Near Paul, MN

We're seeking part-time, temporary Metro Transit Outreach Coordinators in St. Paul on the Blue and Green lines! Flexible hours. The role is to provide outreach in pairs and engage with riders who may benefit from housing information, community resources for mental health and substance use, and more! May provide some assessment and crisis intervention, as well as referral and resource connection. These roles start immediately and go through June 30, 2024 or until grant runs out.

Job Status: Part-time, Temporary, 10-20 hours per week

Summary:

The role of the Metro Transit Outreach Coordinator is to ride the green and blue metro lines, collect data and connect individuals and families to appropriate community-based resources.

The Metro Transit Outreach Coordinator will support anti-oppressive/anti-racist practice, and trauma-responsive practice in all aspects of their interactions with staff, community, and company stakeholders through their administrative and operations support of program staff working on site and in community to address socioeconomic and health disparity. Comfort and proven experience and interest in working with staff with a range of identities including age, developmental and acquired disabilities, religion, spirituality, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, relationship structure, indigenous heritage, national origin, immigration status, and gender is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals and families on metro transit who need referrals to community resources
  • Providing information and referral services with marketing materials and community engagement
  • Establish mutually respectful partnerships with individuals, families, local motels, food shelves, mental health and substance use agencies, case management, county services, crisis services, and shelters to support the efforts of individuals and families to reach their goals.
  • Coordinate and integrate RWC's program services to enhance effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and integrate other community-based services that are culturally specific
  • Implement outreach, recruitment, and development of community partnerships for all programs in order to bolster the services and support for the clients we serve
  • Contribute to effective program practices and maintain a commitment to professionalism throughout the agency and community.
  • Maintain documentation of service recipients and program data for contract tracking and reporting
  • Approach work through a cultural competency lens
  • Deescalate situations in real-time, should they arise
  • Attend regular supervision for support and professional development
  • Other related duties may be assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma, bachelor's degree in human services or related field is advantageous
  • 2-3 years of experience in mental health, community resources
  • 4 years of lived experience may count for the required experience
