Fauna, located in Westhampton Beach is seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our restaurant as a Maitre d’.
As a lead member of our front-of-house service team, we are looking for someone who demonstrates genuine hospitality and sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience by making every single guest feel welcome at the door and ensuring the highest possible standards of service. Our ideal candidate has considerable prior experience in high-end foodservice environments, an impeccable demeanor, customer service skills par excellence, and logistical and organizational acumen.
Responsibilities:

• Greet guests, make and confirm reservations
• Manage restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectations
• Practice clear and constant communication to staff and managers to coordinate efficient use of seating system and timely seating of guests
• Assist in setting the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant space
• Answer guests inquiries regarding food, drinks, and space
• Ability to resolve guest complaints or disputes in a professional manner
• Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
• Complete opening and closing duties to prepare restaurant for service

Requirements

• At least 3 years in a high-end, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Adaptive organizational skills and the ability to change plans to meet new circumstances
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to tactfully deliver unwelcome news to guests
• Reliable and capable of working independently or following specific directives
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Good judgment and strong sense of integrity
• Reasonable range of motion such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, stirring, lifting to complete physical tasks related to responsibilities
• Passion and love for the food and hospitality industry
