Roosevelt Middle School is Hiring a Math Interventionist Near New Bedford, MA

We seek candidates who are dedicated to inclusion and have a clear interest in being part of the richness of diversity that the New Bedford Public Schools community has to offer.JOB GOAL:The goal of the Math Interventionist is to raise the mathematics achievement levels of Roosevelt Middle School students by designing and delivering research-based mathematicsinterventions that address developmental learning needs of students.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Plan and deliver targeted math interventions to students in grades 6-8 usingidentified scientific, research-based math interventions that target individual student learningneeds/gaps.2. Assess students in mathematics to diagnose mathematics learning strengths and gaps. Using STAR, CFA, and other applicable student math assessments.3. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other Roosevelt staff to support students’mathematics development and build a strong culture for student engagement andprofessional collaboration at the Roosevelt Middle School.4. Maintain records of interventions, monitor intervention fidelity, and track studentprogress/results.5. Support school-wide assessments and assist with the analysis of data to identifystudents in need of intervention services and priority skill development needs/gaps.6. Work with school personnel to determine Individualized Education Program interventionsand services when appropriate.7. Teach targeted tier two and tier three Math intervention to groups of students using research-based strategies and resources.8.Planning & Development: This position includes a planning period every day. Interventionist will plan lessons and instruction that may include: assess student work, plan differentiated lessons bases on ongoing review of student work and other data collected, collaborate with team teachers on curriculum and assessment, and participate in reflective practice and professional development. 9.Discipline / Classroom Management: follow the school’s prescribed discipline, classroom management, and classroom routines to ensure a consistent environment across the school for all students.10. Attend team/parent meetings as requested; provide input to teams regarding studentacademic strengths and needs.11. Attend training and professional development as assigned by the Principal.12. Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Principal.QUALIFICATIONS:1. BA required, MA preferred in Mathematics and/or Special Education Massachusetts Teachers license in Mathematics and/or Moderate Disabilities Pk-8 or 5-122. SEI endorsement or willingness to participate in SEI endorsement course.3. Background in teaching mathematics.4. Passion for engaging students in math content.5. Knowledge of growth mindset and ability to motivate students.6. Desire and commitment to professional growth.7. Commitment to cultural proficiency and urban education.Reports to: Building PrincipalTerms of Employment:This position follows the Unit A contract
