Roofer.com is Hiring a Drone Operator Near Austin, TX

Job description:

Coordinate and actively participate in ground and flight operations efforts includingmission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, air/ground crew resource management, final data processing / deliverable development, and safety. You will be responsible for planning and flying drone missions to gather imagery for orthographic maps, LiDAR, and thermal inspection of roofs. You will be responsible for flying LOS (Line of Sight) missions. Drone Operators will ensure compliance with service guidance, companypolicy and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

Prior experience with drones is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Use drone to collect inspection data and high-quality photos showing the condition of a roof.
  • Planning drone routes prior to departure in order to meet appointment deadlines.
  • Reviewing the weather to time drone flights.
  • Navigating the drone through various tasks such as capturing images or video footage of a structural property.
  • Knowledge of various unmanned aerial system hardware and software.
  • Support an environment of professionalism, consistency, procedure, and improvement.
  • Responsible for quality assurance and 100 % accuracy and quality control on all work performed.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with other employees and managers of all levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 certification
  • Military experience (15W or 15C MOS are encouraged to apply)

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a drone operator
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Excellent physical fitness and stamina
  • Strong attention to detail and soft skills

Equipment:

  • DJI Mavic or Air series (3 series preferred)
  • Drone Insurance
  • PPE as required for job site
  • 10 or more documented hours of drone flight time
  • Reliable mode of transportation

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be in physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone.
  • Ability to sit or stand while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Salary: $50 per scan plus upload
