Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Our mission at Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California (RMHCSC) is to provide comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California. To achieve our vision of creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, and joy. The Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC) is located blocks away from Children’s Hospital of Orange County and provides a home-away-from-home for up to 44 families every night.
Summary: Under the direction of the Development Director, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the leadership and integration of volunteers into the Ronald McDonald House® Orange County. The Volunteer Coordinator coordinates and facilitates the recruitment, training, scheduling, retention, and recognition of volunteers for House Operations and Development and is the first personal point of contact for people who wish to volunteer for the organization. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for achieving what is absolutely critical for the long-term sustainability of the Ronald McDonald House® involving volunteers in every part of our mission.

Qualifications
Position requires proven organizational, communication (both written and oral), creative writing skills, interpersonal skills, and excellent presentation skills. Experience working with a diverse population, an understanding of the needs of our vulnerable clientele; computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Individuals should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and possess strong time management skills.

Language Skills
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Coordinators, clients, board members, families, and the general public. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid CA driver's license and good driving record.
