The full-time Housekeeper is responsible for the continuation of guest services at Ronald McDonald House in Bangor through their primary responsibility of daily cleaning of individual guest rooms and guest bathrooms. The housekeeper is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the House in which they work and ensuring the safety of residents within the House. The housekeeper may assist with front desk coverage as needed. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Program Director.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the cleanliness and order of the House including all vacant guestrooms, public restrooms, common living spaces, and storage areas
• Cleaning and making up guest rooms, including washing laundry and making beds
• Organizing and maintaining food storage, rotating, and disposing of old food when needed
• Removing any litter on the property
• Sweeping and mopping floors, multiple times each week.
• Dusting, vacuuming, and organizing common living spaces
• Kitchen and dining room cleaning
• Cleaning and stocking public restrooms
• Cleaning offices, common areas and storage rooms
• Inventory and organization of house supplies
• Assisting with day-to-day operations and front desk coverage as needed. Tasks may include answering phones, taking referrals from the hospital, and checking in new families.

• Highly organized, creative, energetic, and collaborative team player
• Flexibility regarding work assignments and changing priorities.
• Customer service skills or experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Requires at least two years of work experience in housekeeping, general home repair, or a similar position that involves interaction with the public; experience in a commercial hotel or non-profit group living setting is preferred
