Our Mission

Nestled in a picturesque neighborhood residential community in Alameda, Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School (SJND), a Catholic parish high school, provides a dynamic and rigorous college preparatory education. Since 2008, Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School’s Summer Discovery program has offered a unique combination of academics, athletics, and fun enrichment courses for K-8 students. Starting in Summer 2023, we will rebrand it to be the Pilot Summer Pathways and collaborate with St. Joseph Elementary School. Designed to be flexible and to facilitate the busy schedules of families, these camps can be taken individually for a half-day experience or combined for a full-day session.
The Coordinator of Pilot Summer Pathways develops and oversees the program operations including sports and enrichment. The Coordinator reports directly to the Principal to determine summer offerings, plan operations and outreach efforts, and budget for the entire program. The Coordinator of Summer Pathways will work closely with the Director of Finance (DOF) and the Business Office on all finance, payroll and billing areas.
The Coordinator of Pilot Summer Pathways has primary oversight during the planning, marketing, and registration stages that take place in the spring prior to the beginning of the first summer session. They serve as the coordinator of operations when Summer Pathways is in session during the months of June, July and August.
Qualified candidates will be enthusiastic about providing fun, yet engaging summer programs for students of all ages.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and oversee Summer Pathways programming in consultation with the Principal and Director of Finance.
  • Interview, recommend, hire, and supervise all summer program staff, recruit SJND students as assistants and recruit faculty and staff from SJND and feeder schools including SJES and SPN.
  • Develop and manage a budget for SJND Summer Pathways Program working closely with the DOF.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the program and liaison with the Business Office in areas of parent camp payments, vendor invoicing and payroll for program staff.
  • Create all protocols related to student safety while on the SJND and SJES campus including but not limited to participant check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Work with SJND Human Resources to secure any required permits, insurance certificates, employee fingerprints, student permission slips that fully limit the liability of Saint Joseph Notre Dame High School in any circumstance.
  • Coordinate facilities allocation for all programs with appropriate SJND facilities staff.
  • Develop a marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the Office of Advancement.
  • Responsible for overseeing the customer service aspects of the program through the proper training and management of registration staff and on-site staff.
  • Manage campus supervision of all programs and participants including student discipline issues.
  • Works with the Athletic Director in the coordination for the Kelly Gym for the summer athletics program
Qualifying Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in planning academic and co-curricular K-8 programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service experience
  • Administrative experience
  • Finance and budgeting skills required
This is a 20% FTE position during the months of February through May. This is a 100% FTE position during the months of June, July, and the first two weeks of August.
Compensation
Salary stipend depending on experience ranges from $15,000 to $20,000 for the entire period.
