The ECT Registered Nurse (RN) provides medical management and assessment of patients receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). The ECT RN ensures environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population while providing bedside support and assessment in coordination with Anesthesiology and the treating Psychiatrist throughout the pre-procedural phase, the ECT procedure, and post-anesthesia recovery phase. The ECT RN provides emergent nursing care in the event of medical crisis/emergency, makes patient and task assignments to subordinates and monitors their performance of duties, and provides training and education to staff, patients, families, & others. The ECT RN will also document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, and that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates.

Education/Training:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school

Licensure/Certification:

• Current Tennessee State Registered Nurse License
• Current BCLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification REQUIRED before start
• Handle With Care Certification (training provided)

Experience:

One year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults and adolescents preferred. One year acute medical nursing experience in Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit strongly preferred.

Hours for this position are 6:30am-11:30am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (based on number of cases)
