Rolling Hills Health Center Operations, LLC is Hiring a Charge Nurse (RN) - Full-Time - 1st Shift Near Topeka, KS

We are looking for a Day Shift or Night Shift LPN to join our team. We need someone that is a team player and works well under stressful situations, someone that is compassionate and reliable- Our shifts are 6a-6p, 6p-6a. When applying make sure to add what shift you are interested in and availability. We also have shift differentials evenings is 2.00 more an hour and nights are 1.00 more an hour. Depending on your experience determines your hourly wage. We also have SIGN-ON BONUSES.

Summary

Employee is required to direct, administer and record the care given to residents in this facility. The Charge Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with family members regarding the progress of the resident.
  • May be required to assist visiting physicians in rounds.
  • May be required to draw blood and obtain fluids to submit for lab work.
  • Record and monitor all progress of residents and communicate with physicians according to facility policies.
  • May be required to assist in dining area and assist in feeding.
  • Monitor work of other nursing staff in unit to insure thoroughness and assist with tasks as needed.
  • Required to use telephones to communicate with physicians, arrange for transportation for doctor appointments, and contact families.
  • Make rounds to insure cleanliness and proper care to residents.
  • Coordinates care of residents in accordance with their care plans.
  • Effectively manages all nursing staff assigned to unit.
  • May be required to complete various reports as needed.
  • Monitors personal and staff compliance to all State and federal requirements including blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety.
  • Monitors personal and staff compliance to resident’s rights.
  • Assures that all medications and treatments are administered as ordered and in a timely fashion according to facility policies and schedules.
  • Required to replace nursing staff that call in sick with additional staff. May be required to help provide nursing services when sufficient staff cannot be attained.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Kansas nursing license that is in good standing with the State.
  • Must have basic computer skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although hey may not be a requirement of the job.
  • This is a supervisory position. Employee is required to handle employees in a manner that assists them in their ability to function effectively. Employee may be asked to perform other duties not listed above. Such duties will be within the scope of the employee’s training and ability. The employer reserves the right to modify this job description based upon the company needs.
