Rolling Hills Country Club is Hiring a Food Server Part-Time Near ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CA

POSITION: FOOD SERVER

CATEGORY: NON-EXEMPT

SUMMARY:

 The Food Server is responsible for exceeding guests’ expectations by providing efficient, friendly guest service. Teamwork, enthusiasm, food and wine knowledge, the ability to multitask, and a high energy level are necessary for success in this position.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide efficient, friendly guest service to a 3-6 table section including, but not limited to, following all steps of service and pre-bussing the table to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Be in proper and complete uniform as designated and be at scheduled station at scheduled time.
  • Provide immediate attention to all patrons using fine dining standards of service, greet guests with a warm, sincere smile, and ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests’ needs.
  • Understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu.
  • Use sales techniques to present and encourage current promotions to guests.
  • Pre-buss tables and maintain clean work areas throughout your shift. Pour and refill coffee, water, wine (from purchased bottles) and other beverages with, and after, meal service.
  • Assist the Busser as needed in closing functions by performing various tasks (removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc.) and re-setting the room for the next function.
  • Attend our staff meetings, including pre-shift service (line-up) sessions.
  • Use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy. Advise management team members of any patron complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
  • Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team player and always maintain a professional appearance.
  • Ability to use POS system.
  • Ability to work all shifts - days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; Bilingual a plus.
  • Must possess an understanding of restaurant etiquette as outlined in the F&B Training Manual.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years’ experience as a Food Server, fine dining/club environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food and wine service highly desired
  • Experience with a POS system, Northstar a plus

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • ServSafe Sanitation certification required
  • ABC Certification required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and/or carry items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to assist in moving furniture when necessary
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computer, wine opener, and other restaurant equipment
  • Ability to move about freely in a multi-floor building
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors, in many weather conditions
  • Ability to work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
