Position Description

ROI is looking for a creative, self-motivated, hands-on candidate to assist in manufacturing, assembly, and installation of industrial equipment. In this role, you will develop practical skills through exposure to cutting edge technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a fast-paced and dynamic team.

Primary Duties:

  • Assist in fabrication, production, and assembly of industrial equipment and automated systems.
  • Use hand and power tools, jigs, and heavy equipment to manufacture and assemble industrial machines and automation solutions.
  • Cut, drill, tap, deburr, clean, and prepare raw materials for fabrication assembly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Assist with operating and maintaining various machines and other shop equipment.
  • Read and follow pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Mechanically prepare electrical systems (assemble conduit, tie wrap cable, etc.) for electricians.
  • Read and follow electrical diagrams to label and terminate wires inside electrical boxes and control cabinets.
  • Organize and maintain tools, shop equipment, and raw materials to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Program or learn to program and troubleshoot electromechanical systems, robots, and automated processes.
  • Diagnose failures and fix faulty equipment, then make recommendations to prevent future issues.
  • Support on-site installations at customer facilities.

Requirements:

  • Has proven mechanical aptitude with close attention to detail.
  • Has good organizational skills and a high standard of quality workmanship.
  • Has effective communication skills and collaborates well with other team members and departments.
  • Able to read a tape measure and use digital calipers (standard and metric).
  • Able to safely operate shop power tools.
  • Able to prioritize workload and have flexibility as demands change.
  • Willing to perform other duties as needed.
  • Willing to travel, adjust work schedules, and positively represent ROI at trade shows and on-site customer installations.
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and twist around for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in an industrial environment.
  • Experience working on cars, trucks, farm equipment, or other machines (preferred).
  • Welding and / or CNC machining experience (preferred).
  • Experience terminating wires and field wiring (strongly preferred).

Start Date:

As soon as a qualified candidate is identified.

Supervisor:

This position will report directly to the Shop Manager.

Hours:

Typically, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must be willing to work additional hours as workloads dictate. Will be required to work some Fridays and after hours as projects fluctuate. This is a full-time, year-round position.
