DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Starting the 2024-2025 School Year

Position

The Rogue River School District is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Director of Special Programs.

The Director of Special Programs is responsible for oversight of many programs within the RRSD including but not limited to the following:

  • Special education and 504’s
  • Curriculum adoption
  • Integrated Guidance/SIA plans
  • District Title Programs
  • TAG programs
  • Professional Development planning
  • Attendance processes
  • Summer programs
  • McKinney-Vento and Foster student liaison
  • District Equity Committee

Qualifications:

  • Valid TSPC Principal License or Professional Administrator License
  • Strong history of successful work in Special Education and Title programs
  • Skilled in supervision of instruction and providing staff with meaningful feedback to improve instruction
  • Skilled in using data to identify needs and make impactful educational decisions
  • Fiscal knowledge and responsibility related to school budgets, special education, as well as state and federal grant programs
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Commitment to a collaborative leadership style
  • Desire to be engaged with the Rogue River Community

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $131,297 - $140,242 based on experience and also includes an excellent benefit package. This package includes the District paying the 6% employee contribution to PERS and monthly contributions to the employee’s HSA or FSA account.

The District is located in the rural City of Rogue River which was settled in the 1850’s on the banks of the famous Rogue River in Southwestern Oregon and surrounded by the foothills of the Cascades, the Siskiyous, and the Coast Mountains. The District is approximately 250 square miles in size with approximately 900 students attending the public schools. There are three schools within the District; Rogue River Elementary, South Valley Academy, and Rogue River Jr./Sr. High School. Rogue River is within two hours of the Pacific Coast and the Cascade Mountain Range, affording the successful candidate a wealth of diverse outdoor recreational opportunities.
