Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This position requires expertise in pet grooming, animal restraint, pet care, animal catheterization, dog handling, equine care, laboratory procedures, and X-ray imaging. Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, nail trimming, and coat brushing - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Monitor vital signs of animals under anesthesia - Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing - Perform animal catheterization and administer fluids as necessary - Take X-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging procedures - Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information - Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in veterinary technology preferred - Previous experience working as a veterinary technician or in a related field is highly desirable - Strong knowledge of animal care practices and procedures - Proficiency in pet grooming techniques - Familiarity with animal restraint methods for various species - Ability to handle dogs of all sizes with confidence and ease - Experience with equine care is a plus - Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to collect samples accurately - Competency in performing animal catheterization and administering fluids - Proficiency in taking X-rays and assisting with diagnostic imaging procedures We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
