QUALIFICATIONS: •Preferred to have Dental Anesthesia Assistant (DAANCE) National Certification or DAANCE eligible •Ability to lead and inspire a team during procedures involving sedation or anesthesia procedures •Ability to communicate clearly with the office team and doctors •Must have a great deal of empathy and compassion for patients and family •Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred •Must be able to travel within and possibly out of state (Any of the out of state travel arrangements would be coordinated by Rodeo Dental Travel department) •This position may require the employee to use his/her personal vehicle to travel to different partner locations during the course of the workday, which means an active, valid Driver' License is required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel •Performs safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assists anesthesiologist as needed •Basic interpretation of ASA monitors as well •Airway management in the operatory and/or recovery room •Removal and dressing of ASA monitors and IV line respectively prior to patient discharge •Pre-operative interview with patient discussing health history of major systems and explanation of the course of the general anesthesia appointment including verifying NPO status and current medications, allergies, etc. •Review post-operative anesthesia instructions to patients/parents or guardians and address all pertinent questions prior to patient departing •Connect and verify connections of oxygen tanks and regulators from central supply as well as back up E tank oxygen cylinder verification prior to induction of the first patient of the day. Change tanks when pressure indicates throughout the clinic day •Intravenous line placement •Clinical placement on patient of ASA monitors (American Society of Anesthesiologists) such as: - Blood pressure cuffs - Pulse oximetry - Temperature probe - ECG electrode placement PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Prolonged sitting and standing as needed •Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
