Rockydale Quarries Corporation, an established aggregate producer, is looking for a Pit Loader Operator for its Roanoke, Virginia location.

The qualified applicant must be able to proficiently operate a large rubber tire loader loading quarry haul trucks. As a primary loader operator, this position will be loading directly from the muck pile and must be able to dig and maintain the floor. Other job duties include pushing and maintaining stockpiles, maintaining roadways, berms, and assuring quality and accuracy of the loads. Operator is preferred with added abilities to operator other equipment to include large excavators, dozers, and other mobile equipment when necessary. The operator must be able to perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of equipment, including fueling, greasing, cleaning, monitoring gauges for proper operating temperatures, oil, and air pressure, etc.

Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and in a mining environment. Overtime may be required based on production needs.

Must have at least one year or more of training or proven experience with similar or same equipment machinery, and have basic knowledge of equipment mechanics. High school diploma or GED required.

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
