We are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist, to join our team in our Chicago facility.

In this role you will work Monday-Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience managing behavioral based health and safety programs in a continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment and with automated equipment required
  • Knowledge expert of OSHA rules and regulations to ensure adherence to said regulations, Federal, State, ROCKWOOL and other standards.
  • Act as a ROCKWOOL ambassador demonstrating our core values of Ambition, Integrity, Responsibility and Efficiency.
  • Demonstrated or proven:

Organizational and analytical skills
Computer knowledge and skills
Acute attention to detail
Written and verbal communication skills
Problem-solving skills

  • Perform safety audits, inspections, and evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that plant operations remain in compliance with new laws and regulations through continuing education, networking, and newsletters.
  • Responsible for managing the Incident Investigation process in conjunction with plant Operations.
  • Inspires employees in such a way that they contribute to continuous improvement of the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Weekly reporting of Health and Safety Key Performance Figures (KPI’s).
  • Manage the site Safety Committee and the Behavior Based Safety Program initiatives.

The Health and Safety Specialist is the key driver moving this commitment into motion having the responsibility for BBS initiatives as well as rapid response to incidents, near misses and our ROCKWOOL “Good Catch” program so that incidents can be prevented before they happen. The Health and Safety Specialist is relied upon as the knowledge expert to provide overall guidance and support to operations personnel to ensure overall understanding of performing their tasks that are critical to keep the plant in compliance to prevent disease or injury to our most valuable asset…our employees!
