et al. is Hiring a FOH Lead (#250, et al.) Near Honolulu, HI

Hawaii's largest locally owned grocery retailer is looking for a FOH Lead to join et al. located in Kahala Mkt. by Foodland. We are seeking high energy, responsible individuals who are passionate about creating a welcoming place for guests to enjoy high quality food & beverages.

The Front of House Lead will be responsible for upholding all Standard Operating Procedures and Sequence of Service standards while providing and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. Assists in the day-to-day supervision of restaurant operations and assists employees. Strives to continually support guests, management team, and employee satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervises restaurant and all related areas in the absence of the location Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Continually follow through with the programs determined by management to increase sales.
  • Monitor guests to ensure that all feel welcome and experience responsive, professional, with gracious service at all time.
  • Assist with handling comps and voids in NCR for the staff.
  • Provide positive reinforcement with all employees.
  • Address and diffuse all guests’ issues and concerns.
  • Conduct table touches and check backs with all guests.
  • Assess business volume and make labor cuts when necessary. Eliminate/minimize any overtime.
  • Follow proper procedures for daily invoice review and logging, price review, ordering/receiving of both products & invoices, tracking waste and spoilage, keeping par levels.
  • When ordering maintain proper par levels for all controllable cost items.
  • Understanding reports to keep on track of the daily sales goals and weekly targets.
  • Knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and expectations as detailed in our guiding principles and employee handbook.
  • Communicates to Chef and Restaurant Manager any issues regarding food quality and service levels.
  • Assists with duties such as ordering of product, inventory, adjusting schedule changes, and related responsibilities.
  • Ensures all employees have proper supplies and uniforms.
  • Observes and reinforces compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre shift meeting on every shift.
  • Log communication of daily activity in Managers' Log.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures, including cash-outs, counting banks, counting safe, and completing change orders.
  • Assist with conducting inventory and weekly ordering.
  • Monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.
  • Uphold Foodland’s company core values and culture through leading by example.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

High school diploma or GED; or equivalent.

Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and NCR Silver Pro.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Able to work independently and on a team.

Willingness to be open, to learn, and take on new responsibilities.

Regular, predictable attendance.

Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands, including but not limited to: sitting at a desk or table working on a computer, and walking. Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical). Lifting, pushing, pulling or bending, kneeling, and continuously standing. Using chemical agents or wearing protective clothing.
