Rockingham County School Division is Hiring a Teacher Assistant - Workforce Redesign Assistant, LSES Near Harrisonburg, VA

Open Until Filled.

10 Month position (191 day contract)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to work cooperatively with others in a positive manner; ability to learn and use specialized instructional/management techniques as needed; ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as a part of an instructional team of multiple teachers to provide varied levels of instruction to students

2. Occasionally, cover a group of students to allow for teachers to creatively schedule students or collaborate

3. Serve as the primary substitute teacher when a teacher who is a member of the team is absent.

4. Work with individual students as directed by teachers on the instructional team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development Certificate (GED). Two years of college, 12 undergraduate credits in math/English or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment preferred.
