SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Assistant Director of Long Term Care Services supports the Senior Director of Long Term Care Services in overseeing the management, operations, and clinical aspects of the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center/Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community in compliance with all Federal, State, and County policies, rules, regulations, and statutes.

The Assistant Director of Long Term Care Services collaborates closely with the Senior Director to create, implement, and maintain strategic plans and policies to ensure long-term viability of the community. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Assistant Director of Long Term Care Services establishes opportunities to build morale and boost productivity/retention, promotes positive change, maintains collaboration with Rockingham County stakeholders, supervises department functions to assure the highest degree of quality care, conducts rounds on resident/client care, maintains a continuous system of continuing education, skill training, and staff development to ensure consistent professional growth, and provides support, guidance, and feedback to staff. Further, this position serves as the compliance officer & risk manager, and proactively works to ensure the quality/safety initiatives are developed through methods of continuous improvement, advocates for clinical quality and infection prevention, and coordinates/oversees the risk management program along with training & education compliance to focus on maximizing efficiency and performance improvement opportunities. Requires availability outside of normal business hours to ensure the safety of our residents and facility during times of need, and ability to work varying shifts and weekends as needed.

Typical qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Improvement, Risk Management, or other closely related field of study; Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Five (5) years Long Term Care, acute care, and/or public health experience in a supervisory and/or managerial level.
  • Two (2) years coordinating and/or leading quality improvement initiatives in a Long Term Care environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education, work, and experience will be considered.
  • LNHA Nursing Home Administrator License, or ability to obtain within one year, is required.
  • Quality Improvement certification required.
  • Certification as a Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional, and/or other related quality improvement certification is highly recommended.
  • CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
