Rocking Horse Community Health Center is Hiring a Patient Account & Credentialing Representative for School Based Health Care Near Springfield, OH

We are seeking a Patient Account & Credentialing Representative to join our team!

Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides healthcare services to some of the area’s most vulnerable populations.

The organization is looking to add a Patient Account & Credentialing Representative for our School Based Health Care Clinic at Springfield High School. This individual performs eligibility verification of insurance, performs necessary edits and submission of claims through our Electronic Health Record System. Prior insurance billing and collections experience is required. In addition, will assist the Contracts and Paneling Specialist on employee job position credentialing as needed. You will enjoy the benefits of a 4 ½ day work week working alongside a great team at the Rocking Horse!

Position Info:

Position Title: Patient Account & Credentialing Representative for School Based Health Care

Primary Service Center: Springfield OH – Springfield High School location.

FLSA Status: Hourly – Non-Exempt position

Work Hours: Full-time position

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate degree or three (3) to five (5) years of equivalent experience in the field of billing and collections is required.

Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace Exchange plans, and Commercial insurance is required.

Education and or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Associates degree or three (3) to five (5) years of equivalent experience in the field of billing and collections required.


  • Language Skills
    : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one –on –one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills
    : Ability to add and subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability
    : Ability to apply common sense understanding to consistently carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Computer Skills
    : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounts Receivable software, spreadsheet software and Word processing software.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration
    : A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for this position.

  • Physical Demands
    : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to fingers, handle or feel and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The position involves regular interaction with patients and other members of the general public. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, may occur. Schedule is dependent upon organization needs, and may include evenings and weekends. May be sent home if demand is low, or be requested to work overtime when demand is high.
