Rockford Rescue Mission is Hiring a Works! Center Director Near Rockford, IL

We need you to join our staff and share your talents. We are looking for a Director of our Works! Program here at Rockford Rescue Mission. 
Rockford Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital part of our team. Therefore, it is essential that all staff of RRMM have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and subscribe to our Statement of Faith and Core Values. Additionally, staff must be willing to lead and/or participate in Bible study, prayer, devotions, chapel and sharing the Gospel.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct all phases of the Works! Center. Implement Works! Center policies and program procedures. Oversee the development and operation of Career Employment Services. Seek to improve ministry operations and develop and maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Primarily works in an office environment. Requires sitting and working on computer 70% of the time.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct the Center in the day-to-day operations.
  • Periodically evaluate the program, meeting with the Executive Director of Programs and Program Directors to plan systematic methods of implementing changes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the Works! Center, and Childcare Program
  • Monitor progress of department strategic plan/goals.
  • Interview new staff and make recommendations for hiring.
  • Assist the Volunteer Supervisor to regularly update department needs including requests, training, leadership, recognition and evaluation of volunteers.
  • Periodically evaluate programs, meeting with staff, Chief Program Officer and Chief Executive Officer to plan systematic methods of continuous improvement.
EDUCATIONAL CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement Education Center policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and implement Works! Center trainings
  • Monitor student activities.
  • Develop and monitor vocational track offerings.
  • Monitor, evaluate and provide feedback regarding participant performance for execution and completion of tasks, attitude, behavior and accountability.
  • Collaborate with staff concerning training modifications and enhancements.
  • Motivate students to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Partner with employers for job connects for Residents and Guests
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent related experience required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the professional community with the ability to interface and establish relationships to create employment opportunities for candidates.
  • Must be organized, possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to motivate others and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must have strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must be active in a local Christian church.
  • Must demonstrate compassion toward the poor, needy, and homeless.
  • Must have strong leadership qualities and demonstrate character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc.
  • Must be teachable and function as a team player.
SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
  • Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents.
  • Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Ensure actions and policies reflect the Christian values and purpose of the Mission.
  • Handle relational conflicts according to the Staff Covenant of Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15-19
  • Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values.
  • Participate in corporate prayer and Scripture reading, staff chapel services, and all spiritual gatherings.
  • Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In-Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ.
