Rock Coast Personnel is Hiring a Shipper receiver Near Windham, ME

A busy Windham manufacturer is seeking a Shipper / Receiver to safely handle the receipt of all incoming deliveries and preparation of outgoing shipments and the loading and unloading of trucks as well as working regularly with transportation contractors and occasionally directly with customers.

Past Shipper / Receiver experience is a must and a manufacturing background is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Process Shipments with various carriers (UPS, DHL, FedEx, LTL, etc.)
  • Update information in the ERP system
  • Receive incoming shipments from suppliers and post into the ERP system
  • Label incoming parts and put Inventory into location
  • Package shipments
  • Build crates for shipments
  • Load and unload materials received and shipped using a forklift and / or hand pallet jack.
  • Use a variety of hand tools
  • Sandblast or sand various parts
  • Read technical drawings / prints
  • Use precision measuring instruments / calipers
  • Perform quality checks on incoming goods
  • Pick and organize parts and materials for assembly
  • Perform Inventory and Cycle Count duties as needed
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Maintain compliance with standards for safety & quality
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Safe forklift operation. Existing forklift license ideal.
  • Safely operation of overhead crane with safe and proper load management.
  • Use of basic packaging tools (tape measure, pneumatic staple / nail gun, wrenches and bander)
  • Basic woodworking skills to make skids, boxes, and crates
  • Basic packaging skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of shipping software or ability to learn.
  • Ability to lift, up to 50lbs
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to stand for entire shift

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role

Starting pay is $25 per hour for this Temp-to-Hire position, which includes a solid benefit package upon being hired on.
