Rochester Metal Products Corp. is Hiring a COST ACCOUNTANT Near ROCHESTER, IN

Description

  • Support Management Team through monthly expense reporting and reviews for the Management Team.
  • Work with Industrial Engineering to maintain accurate bills of materials, routings and standards.
  • Ongoing evaluation of profitability on a part level basis.
  • Analyze and identify scrap trends and work with Manufacturing Management on corrective actions.
  • Spend time on the manufacturing floor to understand processes, identify opportunities and address issues as they arise.
  • Working on a day-to-day basis with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Production Control, Pattern Shop and other departments.
  • Oversees and maintains the costing module of the ERP system and the setting of standard costs.
  • Monitors and analyzes inventory levels.
  • Tracks and monitors capital spending versus plan.
  • Lead person for the annual budget process.
  • Participates on project teams; occasionally leads project teams.
  • And, any additional duties that may be assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; including effectively communicating findings (written and verbal) to various functional managers.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as inventory software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze critical problems. 
  • Ability to model and analyze using databases, ERP and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare executive quality presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Ability to proactively investigate opportunities and report to the Management Team.
  • Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • BS or BA Degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • At least 5 years progressive experience Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of extensive experience using ERP standard costing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
