Detailed Job Description
The NTID Online Program Support Specialist contributes to the success of NTID's online initiatives by assisting the NLC Director and Asst Director with blended, flipped and online course and program initiatives by providing technical support and training to faculty and students in the use of necessary learning tools and systems. In addition, the Support Specialist supports the daily activities and maintenance of equipment, applications and systems within the Sprint Relay Lab (SRL) and NTID's two video production studios. The Support Specialist will work with other Information Security & Technology Services team members to specify, test, implement and support the technologies required for supporting the NLC's online initiatives, Sprint Relay Lab and video production studios
  • Work with NLC leadership and TIS resources to conduct proof of concept and best practice research for classroom and online technology projects and initiatives at NTID
  • Provide ongoing technology training to NTID instructors teaching flipped, blended and online courses
  • Provide daily technical support for the SRL, video production rooms and online technologies. Ensure all equipment and processes are secure, functioning, maintained and conform to RIT Information Security and IT policies
  • Assist Faculty on the effective use of e-learning technologies, LMS tools, web-based tools, and mobile apps for online teaching and learning
  • Provide daily oversight for the Sprint Relay Lab co-op student and/or part-time student employee.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years experience in a related field, including both technology support and training experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information technology or a related field
  • Proficiency/Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) communication skills strongly preferred
A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree, type of degree or specific years of experience if directly relatable to the experience and education specified
Required Skills
  • Must be familiar with classroom technologies and their applications with deaf/hard-of-hearing college students.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, written and sign skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented, student-focused environment.
  • Must possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
