Detailed Job Description
Strategic Planning:
Manages strategy, directs activities, and evaluates outcomes of recruitment and outreach efforts; and manages the recruitment budget. Collaborate and strategize with program directors to recruit undergraduate and graduate students. The Associate Director develops innovative recruiting strategies for prospects and maintains a recruitment plan that reflects the college-wide priorities of student outreach and engagement. This position prepares and submits reports to document recruitment goals, activities, and outcomes.
Community Partnerships: Responsible for campus and community recruitment partnerships. Develop and maintain relationships with program directors and other internal stakeholders to increase COLA admissions and enrollments. Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, colleges, businesses and community organizations to promote the educational opportunities, campus events, and scholarship opportunities at RIT and the College of Liberal Arts. Facilitate articulation agreements and enrollment pathways with community college partners. The associate director supports efforts of the K-12 University Center on K-12 outreach and enrichment activities; and supports the college deans and the Vice President of Enrollment Management with meeting the college's enrollment goals.
Recruitment:
Represent the college by engaging and participating at internal and external recruiting events and meetings delivering promotional presentations to diverse audiences. Coordinate with Enrollment Management, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Enrollment Services, alumni and student ambassadors to deliver and present events such as online and virtual open houses, accepted student open houses, and on campus visit programs for prospective students and their families. This position assists COLA departments with planning and organizing recruitment and outreach events on and off campus.
Communications:
Employ effective and professional marketing and communications skills; generate and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and program directors to develop promotional materials for the college and create recruitment-related web content and social media. Assist with the creation and maintenance of a social media presence aimed at prospective students and families.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years experience in:
  • Working with culturally and racially diverse populations and first generation students.
  • Admissions counseling, recruitment or related experience in higher education.
  • Event planning and implementation experience.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Student information systems and/or CRM systems.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to utilize data to set goals, progress to goals and report development.
