Job Title: HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) Resident Service Coordinator
Reports To: Community Manager
Earnings Status: Non-Exempt $20-$22/hr
Summary: 
The Service Coordinator is responsible for assessing resident needs and connecting residents to appropriate services for the purpose of enhancing the lives of those living in the community. The Coordinator, as a part of the property management team at a given site, will promote the company culture, mission and values, while following up to ensure that the services rendered are meeting the needs of individuals.
Essential Functions: Assists the community and its residents with the following (including but not limited to):
  • Works with new and existing residents to explain the service coordinator program.
  • Identifies, assesses, selects, develops, and maintains referral relationships with local agencies.
  • Refers and links residents to service providers in the general community: case management, personal assistance, homemaker, meals-on-wheels, transportation, counseling, visiting nurse, preventative health screening/wellness and legal advocacy.
  • Refers concerns about lease violations to the Community Manager and works as part of the management team when a resident is identified as being in jeopardy of eviction.
  • Develops case plans in coordination with assessment services in the community.
  • Monitors ongoing provisions of services from community.
  • Facilitates resident meetings, community-organizing and social activities.
  • Support residents to enhance the quality of their lives.
  • Works with management in mediating conflicts between residents.
  • Establishes resident communications through meeting minutes, newsletter, flyer, bulletin board, etc.
  • Sets up volunteer support program with services organizations in the community.
Other Functions:
  • Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

  • Required to contribute to harmonious and professional workplace environment, in which all individuals are treated with respect, supporting and upholding our zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other prohibited conduct.
  • Must be committed to acting with the highest level of ethical decision making in all situations.
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, organizational, time management, and verbal and written skills.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with residents, emergency providers and outside contractors.
  • Must have computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to navigate the Internet.
  • Must be able to walk, move and transport up to 25 lb. loads, bend, stoop, climb stairs.
  • Is detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. 
Core Competencies/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Counseling or related specialty or significant work experience relevant to the position.
  • Experience with AASC Online Software for the American Association of Service Coordinators preferred.
  • Experience working in a HUD housing environment preferred.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
