Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Drafter, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development process, utilizing your expertise in SOLIDWORKS and related tools to create high-quality designs and ensure adherence to engineering standards. Your responsibilities will include independently developing designs, conducting tolerance analysis, managing requirements, and preparing Bills of Materials (BOM). You will be tasked with delivering quality engineering solutions while leveraging your proficiency in CAD tools and your understanding of mechanical tolerances and standard parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development:
• Independently develop designs using SOLIDWORKS for modeling, drafting, and assembly.
• Utilize CAD tools to create 3D models and 2D drawings according to project requirements.
• Tolerance Analysis:
• Apply GD&T drawing practices to conduct tolerance analysis of assembly and piece parts.
• Ensure design integrity and functionality by closely managing mechanical tolerances.
• Requirement Management:
• Utilize requirement management tools to document project specifications.
• Create and manage 2D drawings and 3D models in accordance with project requirements.
• Quality Assurance:
• Ensure the delivery of quality engineering solutions according to established standards and requirements.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) to support manufacturing processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• CAD Proficiency:
• Expertise in producing 3D models and 2D drawings in SOLIDWORKS CAD is desired.
• Knowledge of PDM:
• Hands-on experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools, with preference for ENOVIA.
• Mechanical Tolerances:
• Hands-on understanding of mechanical tolerances applied to parts and assemblies is mandatory.
• Standard Parts Familiarity:
• Familiarity with standard parts datasheets and their integration into design processes is mandatory.
• Geometrical Input:
• Hands-on familiarity with geometrical input for CAD design, including interpreting ICDs and specs, is mandatory.
• CAD Definition and Review:
• Ability to define structural reinforcements, create 2D drawing definitions, lead engineering reviews, and oversee engineering release processes is mandatory.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.61 - $40.43 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
