Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the department work area, including the use of equipment and safety. In partnership with other company Supervisors, this position will develop and execute department goals and objectives as they relate to safety, production, quality, shipping and receiving. Supervises all functions of the work area including safety and training
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Manages hourly workforce in designated department and workflow of production lines
Schedules production lines, maintains and improves productivity
Maintains accurate computerized inventory control and cycle counts
Develops and maintains performance measurements and work schedules
Provides training to direct reports in the areas of production, material handling, equipment, safety and hazardous materials
Sorts and disposes of non-conforming materials in accordance with established procedures
Maintains the production area in good housekeeping order according to OSHA guidelines
Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements
Performs other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises hourly workforce within the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring for the position(s).
Coach, mentor, and develop hourly workforce
Provide mentoring and training for production, safety, quality, inventory control etc
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
1-2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Ability to plan, organize and direct production workflow
Ability to communicate effectively
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead a team
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Basic MS Excel (Sorting and filtering data)
Language Skills
Bilingual preferred English and Spanish (reading, writing, verbal)
Mathematical Skills
Mathematical proficiency
Other Skills
Must be able to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds. Have ability to complete frequent lifting, standing and walking up to 8 hours. May frequently use ladders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and will be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
