Robeson Family Vision Center is Hiring an Optometric Assistant Near Winona, MN

Work Schedule is: Part-time Monday, Tuesday, and Friday's 8:30am - 5:00pm & Wednesday's 8:45am - 1:15pm (can vary). Hours are subject to change depending on the practice's needs.

Previous experience in a healthcare settings is preferred, and we are willing to train the appropriate candidate.

Robeson Family Vision Center located in Winona, MN has a part-time Optometric position available.

Job Summary (but not limited to): Assisting the doctor(s) by performing medical testing and gathering important health information. Attention to detail, superior listening skills, highly motivated, committed to success, patient focused and ability to follow direction are a must.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to a warm and welcoming health care environment for patients and co-workers
  • Communicating by phone, text and e-mail about patient appointments, orders, insurance, and billing
  • Helping patients with pretesting and special testing (using the latest technology: OCT imaging/autorefractor/tonometry/visual fields/retinal imaging/keratography)
  • Ordering contact lenses / monitoring contact lens inventory and working with contact lens vendors
  • Working with patients on the insertion and removal of the contact lens
  • Ordering and maintaining supply levels
  • Dispensing new eye wear, and/or repairs
  • General clerical duties, including accurate data entry with a variety of software programs

The skills and qualifications required for this position include:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare settings is preferred, and we are willing to train the appropriate candidate.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage independent projects
  • Accurate oral and written communication skills
  • Effective focus and attention to detail on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Cooperative approach to setting and reaching team goals
  • Sound judgment in protecting patient privacy and confidentiality

COMPENSATION:

Robeson Family Vision Center offers employee discounts, and a bonus plan. Starting hourly wage range is $14.00 to $16.00 / hour, dependent on experience.
