Robertson Landscaping is Hiring a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor Near Colorado, CO

Job Description

The Landscape Maintenance Supervisor provides daily scheduling, leadership and supervision to the production team members and ensures customers are satisfied and retained. The Supervisor does this by contributing towards a safe, productive, and profitable environment. Works closely with the other team members in the areas of training, documentation, employee development, and company policy enforcement. The Manager helps achieve and maintain the maximum levels of safety, productivity, and quality for the services provided to our customers. The Supervisor oversees each property to include all lawns areas, native areas, beds, plant material, common spaces, etc., and provide documentation of suggested improvements and problem areas. Must have landscape maintenance experience.

Core Responsibilities

1. Assists in planning, organizing, and directing activities within the assigned department as directed. 

2. Ensure smooth operations during necessary seasons and/or in absence of one or more team members. Assumes responsibilities of other Supervisors/Foreman as needed in the office or in the field.

3. Enforces company standards, safety, dress codes, and utilization of PPE each day.

4. Ensures an efficient and high quality work environment.

5. Participates professionally in assigned meetings (including crew, supervisor, and management and company meetings). 

6. Professional involvement and/or ongoing education needed to perform and grow with the company needs.

Daily Tasks

1. Responsible for assigning, inputting printed work orders, routing, and reviewing work orders with Foreman to ensure knowledge of the work to be completed for each day.

2. Ensure crews have the necessary equipment and supplies for the job and loaded properly onto vehicles and or trailers.

3. Monitor crew members to insure proper attire, shirts are tucked in, and company dress code is being complied with.

4. Checks with crews throughout the day to ensure they are on schedule and arrange help if needed or available.

5. Quality control checks of each crew while onsite and directs the necessary corrections as needed.

6. Spend time with crews/individuals during break periods to build rapport.

7. Gives positive feedback for good quality work and work environment.

8. Gives constructive criticism, instruction, and training as required to fix bad habits or quality issues seen in the field.

9. Review work orders with crew foreman and ensure they are properly filled out and recorded in software program at end of each day for each property.

10. Enters or records data into computer software for job costing at the end of each day.

Monthly Tasks

1. Responsible for overseeing training of new employees (see Employee Training Program List)

2. Ensure continuing education & development for all employees.

3. Monitor crew production and ensure properties are being maintained properly and on budget.

Employee Management & Development 

1. Maintains department morale, works on employee development, motivation, and retention. 

2. Maintains documentation in order to report on employee progress.

3. Includes answering crew questions or assisting with any needs they may have. 

4. Identifying, developing, administering, and maintaining documentation of training as needed by completing regular skill evaluation for each employee. 

5. Assists in completing employee evaluations and performance reviews. 

6. Evaluation and compensation review of employees as approved. 

7. Reviews prospective employee applications and interviews as needed. 

8. Administer driving tests for department crews. 

Resource & Equipment Management

1. Assists in weekly checks of equipment, to ensure the equipment will perform its function in an efficient and safe manner and fill out report to submit to Equipment Maintenance staff.

2. Helps supervise disposal of yard waste.

3. Checking trucks/equipment for cleanliness and reporting any issues. 

Property Management

1. Completes quality control checks of each property and notates efficiencies and deficiencies and reports to the assigned manager. 

2. Answers and/or returns calls and emails from customers as directed.

3. Assists in emergency situations and support crews as needed.

4. Provide assistances for estimating new and rebidding work.
