Roastar is Hiring a Quality Specialist 1st Shift Near Wausau, WI

POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Specialist will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving in-process production, finished products, and recording the results.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, non-exempt; 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 2:30 pm), or as assigned by the Quality Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

  • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the Quality Manager
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Facilitate internal MRA process
  • Assist in training operators on tolerances and proper measuring techniques
  • Place any non-conforming product on HOLD and complete required additional follow-up testing
  • Assist in cycle counting for the on HOLD area
  • Assist in packaging & shipping areas as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Quality & Engineering Manager

Education & Experience

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are required
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) are required
  • Work experience and knowledge of packaging industry is preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required

Specific Skills, Licensure and Certifications

  • Good record of job performance, attendance, and punctuality
  • Computer experience is required
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • MRP experience/knowledge is preferred
  • Good to excellent math skills are required
  • Individual initiative/assertiveness and follow through are required

  • Work in a manufacturing environment
