The Roanoke Chowan Housing Authority is currently hiring for a Maintenance Supervisor II. This position is non-exempt and reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in skilled maintenance and repair work. Supervisor experience preferred.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING:
Performs related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems and occasionally independent judgement is required to complete work assignments. Ability to supervise subordinate staff in a fair and consistent manner. Practice effective delegation. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies and practices. Refers usual problems to supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Supervision is exercised over assigned maintenance personnel; ability to interpret policies and procedures and enforce same; precautions; ability to identify maintenance and repair problems; ability to maintain records and logs; ability to plan, evaluate and supervise the work of subordinates; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and residents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting; standing; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the office; and attending onsite and offsite meetings. The employee must be able to communicate via email and verbally via telephone.
