PROGRAM DESIGN: Roads to Success (RTS) facilitates a variety of youth programs including after-school, summer camps, retreats, conferences and summer employment opportunities reaching thousands of young people throughout NYC each year. RTS emphasizes the youth development practice of the Circle of Courage in all our programs; creating an environment of Belonging, where young people can build their Independence, find and develop their Mastery skill, and practice Generosity in their communities. At the core of our programs are staff training strategies that enable our young professionals to develop extraordinarily meaningful relationships with the young people in their care who we call Our Future Leaders because that is what they all are. 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  The worksite monitors are an essential role in monitoring and documenting participant’s internship efforts during Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) 

ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE: 

Supervisor: Program Director

Supervises: Participants between the age of 16-24 

Hours: 20 hours a week March thru June; 35 hours a week and July thru August

Compensation: $23- $25 per hour based on experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Support any ongoing efforts to collect program-required documents at their assigned worksites

  • prioritize assignments to meet weekly goals

  • The candidate must have a proven track record in customer service

  • Travel within the 5 boroughs to conduct site visits

  • Submit weekly detailed Monitoring logs in YEPS.

  • Collect timesheets every week and ensure completion with accuracy

  •  Cooperate and maintain a working relationship with the assigned worksite supervisors

  • Communicate with the Program Director regarding any conflicts with worksite assignments

  • Attend all related meetings, trainings, and supervisions as required 

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: 

  • Effective communications skills, both oral and written form;

  • Excellent organizational skills essential to maintain accurate records;

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; 

  • Interact professionally with participants, staff, clients and community partners in a professional manner;

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet common goals;

  • Sensitivity and awareness to different cultures

  • Always conduct himself/herself as a professional as per RTS policy on conduct, appearance and adherence to the overall organizational policy

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite computer knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration, social services, or a related field. 

  • Deep understanding of public benefit programs. 

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Proficiency in data management and reporting systems. 

  • Experience in crisis intervention and support. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Work takes place in one or more school buildings, which may require climbing stairs. 

  • Typical job hours are 9 am -5 pm, Monday - Friday, and events will take place during occasional nights and weekends. 

  • Travel via public transportation or car may be required throughout NYC.

  • Advocates on Behalf of the Team and its Goals 

  • Represent the program, its participants, staff, and families at various levels, advocating for their needs and the program's success.
