Doosan Bobcat is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer (Level DOE) Near Fargo, ND


Job Information

This Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for coordinating the deployment of a lean-based production system throughout NA (North America) and direct improvements to the sites supported. This is done by collaboratively identifying best practices (regional, global) to create a production system “playbook”, developing a launch plan for sites, and training on, and executing that plan. This individual assists resources throughout the site, region, and globe to ensure that the production system is effectively deployed to drive site and organizational KPIs results. This position is aligned with the needs of the business to address the most important issues with the highest impact on the organization.

Location(s): Bismarck, ND; Gwinner, ND; Wahpeton, ND; West Fargo, ND; Johnson Creek, WI; Rogers, MN; Statesville, NC

Role & Responsibility

Production System Deployment:

  • Assists in identifying production system best practices throughout the NA region and globe.
  • Assists in creating, maintaining, and improving production system “playbook” for implementation at new and existing sites.
  • Train on and execute the implementation of the production system “playbook” and/or specific best practices for new and existing sites.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert (SME) for lean-based production system; specific modules system overall.
  • Coach and support team members as needed to lead production system assessments, and improvement planning, and drive results aligned to level goals at site(s).
  • Coach and support site team members as needed for production system/module deployment and improvement execution to drive results aligned to DBPS improvement plans at site(s).
  • Support team members and site and regional production system leadership to achieve results.
  • Coach and support site team members to identify engagement and improvement gaps, acting to close them.
  • Lead improvement projects and Kaizens to close gaps in site KPIs and deploy production systems throughout the region.

Site KPI Support:

  • Coach and support site team members to lead efforts to ensure that gaps in site KPIs are closed through both short-term and long-term project plans.
  • Coach and support site team members to identify and prioritize projects and Kaizens tied to KPIs for the organization, leading or resourcing as appropriate.
  • Support site team members site leadership and other team/site resources to achieve results in site KPIs.

Standards and Training:

  • Assist in developing regional OPEX/TQM standards and training.
  • Assist in developing and executing a training strategy to support production system deployment throughout the organization, for both salaried and hourly employees, that delivers clear business results, both short- and long-term
  • Assist in developing, delivering, and improving training/tools, including lean and other problem-solving and production-system-specific content or tools.
  • Coach and mentor others to progress through projects and Kaizens to achieve site KPIs and/or production system deployment.
Job Requirement
  • Education Required: bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or relevant years of experience.
  • Travel Required: 10-24%.
  • Experience Required: 2 years.
  • Global Breadth: North America.
  • Production system deployment experience is preferred.
  • Experience in developing standards (quality, engineering, lean, or similar)
  • Experience in lean implementation is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and listening skills.
  • Strong performer; highly driven.
  • Ability to make sound, timely decisions.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills and priority focus
  • Strong demonstrated ability to influence and achieve results.
  • Strong process orientation to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to train lean processes and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute promptly and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing processes
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, resource management, and project management is desirable.
